Artist Statement
For me, painting is storytelling. I started working with oils in 2001 and I tapped into an endless well of ideas that motivates me everyday. I am never “not working” on new projects. My goal is to always explore the many different ways to convey an idea or emotion that will resonate with the viewer - in their own unique way. When I began my art career, my biggest inspiration was the work of Dali and Magritte.
Magritte said, “The art of painting is an art of thinking with pictures.” This is what I do-I don’t consider myself a surrealist, I’m just interested in the best way to tell a story. Thank you.
